He holds advisory and board roles with entities such as the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (UNEP & FAO), the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions – Race to Resilience Campaign, the World Economic Forum, 1t.org youth hub, the Global Shapers Community, and the EAT Forum – the leading science-based global platform for transforming food systems.

Featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and Stanford Social Innovation Review. Host of the Dubai Expo 2020 ‘People and Planet’ Podcast. A Fellow for the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), and has received multiple global awards, fellowships, and recognitions for leading projects that contribute toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including being recognized as a ‘Climate Trailblazer’ by the Global Climate Action Summit, and as an Expo 2020 Global Innovator.

With a diverse educational background, Tariq is a certified Ubuntu Peer Peace Coach through the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Foundation, he holds a BSc. in Investment and Financial Risk Management, has graduated from the Singularity University Executive Program based at NASA Research Park, is among the first 100 people in the world to complete a specialization in the field of Biomimicry, and is among the first 10 to complete an international master’s in degrowth and post-growth economics policy. Often collaborating with faith-based communities, Tariq has also completed an Alternative Masters in Divinity at the intersection of spiritual ecology, justice, and community building.
